August 9, 2008 -- Pumunta kami sa bukid. Its really a nice experience going out there with my friends. Syempre kailngan lang ng pagiingat. Malawak ang bukid. Wala kasi ganon sa manila that's why I'm so amaze to see a really wide open farm. And I've got to meet few people. the reason why we go there is that we are preparing for an interview among the less fortunate people.
I thought it would be easy for me asking questions and recording the conversation that goes along with. As I ask questions to these people I felt bad about myself, on who I am and my status in life. It's really a great "HAAY!!" when I heard their stories about why are there "ehemm.." poor. Or should I say why do they have to live this way. For me, to know the status of these people is one of the great experience I've had for know . These people that are forgotten by the government deserve to have at least a work or government supply or scholarships instead.
Let me tell you about this first family We've interviewed. Maybe this one family is a happy family, as I talk to them they know what to answer back. One of them caught my attention. It was Jhonrey, I guess that's his name. He is the 2nd to the eldest. When I ask him, "What do dream of?" .. "Ano pangarap mo sa buhay mo?", He answered me back, "makatapos ng pag aaral..". I'd paused to ask question. Being forced to ask again some question, "Ano ung ginagawa mo para makatapos ka ng pag aaral?.." He answered me, "Mag aral ng mabuti..". he offered me a smile but I know deep inside that smile is a hidden feeling. A feeling of pleasure in life. To have one of the greatness in this world. I bid goodbye looking back at Jhonrey and his family.
The next family we interview is I guess the most crucial of all. A difficult one to ask some question. In spite of talking with "nanay.." (namis ko lola ko!!) She really with a real answer I've been looking for. the serious answer and of course making a sense at all. I'd ask, "Ano pong pangarap nyo para sa pamilya nyo?.." , she answered me "yung makapag trabaho sila, makatapos ng pagaaral.. Yung para hindi nila maranasan yung buhay ko..".
This family is one of the best. They are complete even though they only eat once a day or two.
The great thing having this requirement of English in midterm is that I know this experience, these people I've met, I know for sure this will be one of the effect of my personality, being a good person.
